The multilayered oeuvre of Amador, a native of Pollenca, Mallorca (Spain), born in 1957, has been shown in numerous international solo shows in galleries, Kunstvereine (art associations), museums and the most important art fairs world-wide since 1978. His spectacular exhibitions, like, for instance, „Fluctuations“ in the Georg-Kolbe-Museum in Berlin, Germany, and „Temple de Cel“ in the Esglésoa de Convent de Sant Domingo, Pollenca, Mallorca, were internationally recognised.
Says Francesco Fiol Amengual, Minister of Education and Culture of the Regional Government of the Balearic Islands: “The solid and coherent development of AMADOR, one of our most international artists stems from an absolutely unique perception and the constant positive analysis of human thinking. The family of man he creates in his works is the result of intensive anthropomorphic studies, as there can be no doubt that numerous and complex aspects of individual behaviour blend with what we call culture and associate with notional thinking. The persons depicted in his works represent individuals absorbed by their own being, bearing witness to the heritage of early civilisations and following them back to diversification and innovation – and that means nothing else but spanning a bridge between past and future over this unrelenting present.”
To borrow words from Robert Rauschenberg: ‘I am of the opinion that an image is more real when it is made from parts of the real world.’ Like grouped clones or lonely hieratic figures, wrapped in these interlaced fabrics of contradictory fibres the real world is surrounded with, the works of Amador take part in the ongoing debate on the topic of individual and collective space, on the materials and means of art. This speaks of his intensive reflection of the groups of subjects in which human emotions do not only converge, but also sway to and fro.
